Homework
As your child begins third grade you'll notice that the homework has likely changed. There are two standard homework elements that your child will have each day- completing a reading log and daily math practice. Additional practice in subjects will be assigned as needed. Homework is due the following day unless it is noted otherwise in the agenda.
Organization is key. Students should be writing down homework EVERY DAY in their agendas. (You shouldn't open an agenda to find it blank unless it's a Friday. If you're finding blank days you need to ask them why!)
For daily reading students may choose to read either fiction or nonfiction. They can read independently or aloud to you. The focus is on comprehending what you've read.
